Steinel is a German company that calls itself “the inventors’ company” and has been patenting its inventions since 1959. Steinel launched its first sensors for controlling lighting in 1987, and sensor-based lighting control is still one of its core fields today.

The range includes motion detectors for indoor and outdoor use, presence detectors – among them True Presence, which detects even a person sitting still at a desk –, multisensors, and sensor lights and floodlights. A sensor switches the light on only when someone is in the room or outside, which saves energy and makes corridors, stairwells, car parks and entrances more convenient.
